The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has partnered with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to enhance the scholarship programme for Emirati students, ensuring alignment with national priorities and future workforce needs.
The initiative aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers and contribute to the UAE's economic growth.
The collaboration, formalized through an agreement signed at DEWA’s headquarters, focuses on four key areas: providing high-quality education in strategic sectors, facilitating a seamless transition from education to employment, addressing workforce requirements, and strengthening partnerships between government bodies, employers, and higher education institutions.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, highlighted that the initiative would help Emirati youth meet the evolving demands of the global labour market. He emphasized the importance of preparing students for international opportunities while focusing on sustainable development and improving the scholarship programme's efficiency.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, expressed pride in the strategic partnership, noting that the collaboration would help cultivate a generation of Emirati specialists in vital fields. DEWA will offer professional guidance, training opportunities, and guaranteed employment for scholarship students, ensuring their integration into the workforce upon graduation.
The agreement reflects the UAE's commitment to investing in education and fostering national talent, positioning the country as a global hub for excellence and innovation.
