In a significant move to align education with the UAE’s economic vision, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has signed a landmark cooperation agreement with the Emirates Group.
The initiative aims to support the national scholarship programme, enhance the qualifications of Emirati students, and prepare them for specialised roles in future-focused sectors.
The agreement, signed by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, represents a strategic partnership to integrate academic achievement with practical, market-driven training. Emirati students will be enrolled in top international universities in fields aligned with national priorities, receiving structured career guidance, hands-on training, and guaranteed employment upon graduation.
“This partnership is a key step in delivering on the Emirates Group’s Emiratisation strategy,”
said Sheikh Ahmed.
“We are proud to offer pathways that support the academic and professional aspirations of young Emiratis, contributing directly to the UAE’s aviation sector and broader economy.”
Dr. Al Awar echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of providing scholarship students with a seamless transition from classroom to career.
“Our collaboration ensures that students benefit from a comprehensive educational journey that is both academically rigorous and professionally relevant,”
he noted.
Under the agreement, MoHESR will manage the selection and placement of scholarship recipients, while the Emirates Group will offer continuous support and employment opportunities based on operational needs. The programme will also include monitoring, incentives for high-performing students, and ongoing enhancements based on data and feedback.
This pioneering collaboration sets a benchmark for public-private partnerships in education, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to nurturing national talent and building a resilient, knowledge-driven workforce.
