The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has signed two strategic agreements with Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) to advance the quality of higher education in the UAE.
These partnerships aim to align education with global trends and labor market needs, reinforcing the nation’s status as a hub for academic excellence.
The first agreement focuses on the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme, which annually selects the top 100 Emirati graduates from public and private schools. The initiative aims to develop leadership, innovation, and academic excellence, preparing Emirati students for key roles in Dubai's growth sectors.
The second agreement aims to streamline licensing and accreditation processes for higher education institutions in Dubai, further positioning the UAE as a global destination for higher education.
The agreements were signed in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director-General of KHDA. Dr. Al Awar highlighted the importance of collaboration in building a modern, knowledge-based society, while Miran emphasized the shared vision of fostering innovation and human capital development.
These agreements set a framework for data sharing, quality assurance, and innovation, aligning with the UAE’s vision for sustainable human capital development and global competitiveness in higher education.
