The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has rolled out the first phase of its automatic degree recognition initiative, linking 34 UAE-based higher education institutions and allowing graduates to receive instant recognition of their qualifications.
The initiative removes the need for additional verification steps, enabling graduates to access government services, pursue postgraduate studies, or enter the workforce without administrative delays. It supports the UAE’s broader goal of reducing government bureaucracy while improving efficiency across the higher education system.
Since its launch, more than 25,000 graduates have already benefited from the service. The Ministry confirmed that the programme will expand to include Emirati students studying abroad under Ministry-supervised scholarships, ensuring seamless access to recognition services regardless of location.
According to MoHESR, the automatic recognition system plays a key role in helping graduates meet government, residency, and visa requirements, strengthening their readiness for the next stage of their academic or professional careers.
Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for the Higher Education Operations Sector, said the inclusion of 34 institutions in the first phase reflects the Ministry’s commitment to building an efficient and flexible national recognition system that aligns with labour market needs and supports students and universities alike.
The service allows qualifications issued by Ministry-accredited UAE institutions to be verified through an approved QR code, which officially confirms recognition in line with established regulations. MoHESR also provides digital tools for verifying recognised qualifications and issuing electronic reports for degrees obtained outside the UAE, ensuring reliability and ease of use for relevant authorities.
