The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) concluded the first session of the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI) Global Assessor Training Program, hosting 22 participants from nine countries to boost 4IR adoption across the region.
Over three days, representatives learned about the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI) framework and conducting assessments under it. Launched by MoIAT, ITTI is the region’s first digital maturity index, promoting 4IR solutions and sustainable practices. The ITTI Global Assessor Training Program aims to certify assessors internationally, fostering knowledge exchange, and driving industrial excellence and innovation.
MoIAT launched the ITTI in 2023 under the Technology Transformation Program and as a cornerstone of Operation 300bn, which aims to increase manufacturing value added (MVA) to AED 300 billion by 2031 while supporting the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.
The ITTI is a global standard tool for assessing digital maturity and sustainable practices in manufacturing. It aims to enhance productivity, efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability by enabling advanced technology and Industry 4.0 solutions, guiding manufacturers in designing effective digital transformation initiatives.
Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, emphasized the transformative potential of 4IR for industry but noted many companies' digital immaturity. The ITTI aids these companies by creating a technology transformation roadmap. MoIAT aims to internationalize the ITTI framework, train global assessors, and promote I4.0 ambassadors to foster international collaboration and sustainable industrial development, aligning with the UAE's global industrial role.
In 2023, over 400 UAE companies, assessed by local and international assessors, committed AED 600 million to technology adoption. The ITTI Industry 4.0 Pulse Report highlighted strong progress, with 650 projects implemented and 75% creating digital transformation roadmaps. Assessed companies saw a 15% KPI improvement and increased sustainability targets. Participants from multiple countries reviewed ITTI’s impact on sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness.
