The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has introduced the Make it in the Emirates Ramadan Market to promote UAE-made products and support the Year of Community 2025.
The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Emirates Council for Rural Development, the National CSR Fund “MAJRA,” and the UAE Food and Beverage Business Group, aims to increase consumer demand for locally manufactured goods by offering competitive prices.
The first edition of the market commenced at the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, featuring a variety of Ramadan products. The market will run for the first two weeks of Ramadan, providing a platform for local manufacturers to engage directly with consumers and strengthen confidence in UAE-made products.
Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT, highlighted the initiative's role in promoting sustainable industrial growth and enhancing consumer trust. He said,
“This market exemplifies MoIAT’s efforts during the Year of Community to promote local consumption and competitively priced domestic products.”
Khalfan Ahmed Mesfer, Chairman of the UAQ Chamber of Commerce, praised the initiative for supporting national economic growth and increasing awareness of the quality of Emirati products. Additionally, Mohammed Khalifa Bakhit Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, emphasised the market’s role in empowering local communities and fostering sustainable economic development.
Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to social responsibility and the long-term impact of sustainable consumption.
MoIAT has also invited manufacturers to participate in the fourth edition of Make it in the Emirates, scheduled to take place at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi from 19th to 22nd May 2025.
