The electronic linkage between the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) and the Emirati Human Resources Competitiveness Council, Nafis, has provided crucial pension and insurance benefits to Emiratis employed in the private sector.

Since the launch of the initiative, 71,510 Emiratis have been successfully registered with GPSSA, enabling them to access the valuable services offered through Nafis.

Introduced as part of the UAE’s ‘Projects of the 50,’ the Nafis programme aims to enhance the development of the nation by offering Emiratis services that foster job security and career growth, especially in the private sector. This includes GPSSA’s pension coverage and insurance benefits for both male and female Emiratis employed in private companies or seeking employment in the private sector, including free zones and financial institutions.

To ensure broad participation, GPSSA has launched several campaigns to raise awareness of the programme’s benefits. Eligible Emiratis must be employed by private sector entities with a salary of up to AED 30,000 per month. For the pension plan to apply, individuals must register within the first month of employment and have their salary paid through the wage protection system.

Eligible participants must be aged 18 to 60, medically fit, and be UAE nationals or naturalized citizens. This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to providing Emiratis with essential social security and pension benefits, thereby fostering economic empowerment and job stability across the private sector.
