Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has inaugurated the sixth edition of Najah Dubai at Za’abeel Hall 5, Dubai World Trade Centre.

The exhibition runs until October 27, with the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as Strategic Partner.

More than 100 universities from 20 countries are taking part, including institutions from the UAE, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Hungary and Malaysia. The exhibition opened to visitors on Sunday, October 25, ahead of the official inauguration on Monday. Programmes on offer span AI, engineering, health sciences, business, technology and communications.

Students, parents, teachers and academic counsellors can compare admission requirements and get first-hand information on scholarships, student life and career pathways. More than 30 expert-led seminars cover university admissions, scholarship opportunities, studying abroad and career planning.

Families can also ask practical questions, such as how qualifications are recognised, whether degrees include work placements, what support is available to international students and how graduates move into employment.

The event comes as the UAE’s higher education sector continues to grow. According to the Ministry, 218,241 students were enrolled at universities during the previous academic year, including 64,859 new students. The country’s 103 higher education institutions offer about 2,500 academic programmes.

Dima Al Sadi, Portfolio Manager at Najah Expo, said more choice means students have more to weigh before deciding. She said speaking directly with universities makes the process clearer, adding that students want to go beyond the brochure and ask about scholarships, recognition, internships, employability and graduate outcomes.
