Nakheel Awards AED 810 Million Contract for Palm Jebel Ali Marine Works
Nakheel, a member of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has awarded a significant AED 810 million contract for marine works on Palm Jebel Ali to Jan De Nul Dredging LTD, a leading international player in dredging and land reclamation.
This contract, which involves dredging, beach profiling, sand placement, and land reclamation, is crucial for the construction of villas across all fronds of the iconic development.
Mobilization for the project is already underway, with Jan De Nul Dredging expected to complete the marine works in just over two years. The first eight fronds of Palm Jebel Ali are set to be site-ready by the first quarter of 2025, paving the way for villa infrastructure and civil works.
In addition to this contract, Nakheel has initiated the construction of a new public access road connecting Palm Jebel Ali to Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as roadway and lighting enhancements from the mainland to the island.
Palm Jebel Ali, unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is poised to become a luxurious residential and leisure destination, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. The development will span 13.4 kilometers, featuring 16 fronds and 91 kilometers of beachfront, offering a luxurious waterfront lifestyle.
Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating,
"Jan De Nul Dredging's expertise is pivotal as we accelerate progress on this transformational development."
Palm Jebel Ali is expected to set new standards in quality living and sustainability, with the first phase of villas scheduled for handover by late 2026.
