The National Programme for Coders, in partnership with Samsung Gulf Electronics, has announced the expansion of their Galaxy AI Pioneers (GAIP) programme, bringing artificial intelligence (AI) education directly to classrooms across the UAE.

This initiative will train over 4,000 students in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, focusing on essential AI-related subjects, including coding, machine learning, deep learning, Python fundamentals, computer vision, AI robotics, and natural language processing. The programme is designed for students aged 11-14 and will be rolled out in 15 schools offering British, American, and IB curricula.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud, Director at the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, highlighted the UAE government's commitment to empowering young national professionals by enhancing their technological skills. This aligns with the nation's vision of digital transformation and a knowledge-based economy.

Shafi Alam, Director of Direct-to-Consumer Business & Corporate Marketing at Samsung Gulf, emphasized that the GAIP programme nurtures a new generation of innovators, preparing them to lead the UAE's digital future. The pilot programme's success underscores the growing demand for advanced technology education among youth.

The curriculum encompasses three key pillars: a coding and AI track, a creative content development module using Galaxy AI tools, and a vital online safety component. The programme also includes a specialized course in online safety, designed to reach 900 parents and create a comprehensive support system for young learners.

This strategic initiative aligns with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, reinforcing the country’s global leadership in innovation and education. The 2024 GAIP programme has already trained over 140 young innovators in its first three batches.
