The New Media Academy has launched submissions for the inaugural 1 Billion Pitches competition, a highlight of the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2024, scheduled to take place from January 11-13, 2025, in Dubai.

This innovative program aims to connect startups and content creators with top investors and industry leaders, providing them with crucial support and funding opportunities.

The competition invites global participants to submit their groundbreaking business ideas by September 20, 2024. Shortlisted entries will receive specialized mentorship and training from industry veterans to refine their pitches. The top 25 finalists will present their ideas live at the Summit.

Alia AlHammadi, CEO of the New Media Academy, highlighted the competition's role in advancing media innovation.

“1 Billion Pitches underscores our commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, offering them significant exposure to top investors, and fostering projects that contribute to economic and social development,”

she said.

Following the submission deadline, a panel of judges will select the top 25 ideas based on innovation, feasibility, market potential, and other criteria. The competition will culminate in two winning pitches, which will gain valuable support, including funding, strategic partnerships, and ongoing mentorship.

The 1 Billion Followers Summit, under the theme "Content for Good," aims to position Dubai as a global hub for creative innovation, bringing together leading content creators, industry pioneers, and top brands to explore the power of new media for driving positive change and sustainable development.
