New wellness-inspired pharmacy launched in the UAE; 25 more stores coming up
The inaugural establishment, combining contemporary and organic products, was opened at the Waitrose store located in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi.
Aster Pharmacy and Spinneys have collaboratively introduced an innovative pharmacy concept called Zest Pharmacy, centered around wellness. Their vision includes expanding the network to over 25 stores within the UAE in the coming two years.
The initial establishment, blending modern and natural products, was inaugurated at Waitrose in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. This initiative is the result of a joint venture between Aster Pharmacy and the Fine Fare Food Group, which oversees the retail operations of Spinneys and Waitrose in the UAE.
Alisha Moopen, the Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, along with N.S. Balasubramanian, the CEO of Aster Retail, Sunil Kumar, the CEO of Spinneys, and Tariq Albwardy, the Director of Albwardy Investment, inaugurated the inaugural Zest Pharmacy store.
Dr. Azad Moopen, the Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, expressed the goal of addressing the diverse requirements of their discerning customers in the health and wellness domain through the introduction of Zest Pharmacy. He highlighted their collaboration with Spinneys Group, a prominent regional retailer, to redefine the health and wellness landscape in the countries where they operate. 25 more stores in 2 years
Over the next two years, there are plans to establish up to 25 Zest Pharmacy stores. Alongside standalone pharmacy locations, Zest Wellness sections will be introduced within Spinneys and Waitrose outlets. Furthermore, the joint venture aims to expand its presence into Saudi Arabia.
Balasubramanian expressed the significance of Zest Pharmacy in providing customers with an unparalleled retail experience. With the launch of the first store in Abu Dhabi, the goal is to bring the wellness offering closer to customers in the area.
