This Ramadan, Novotel Dubai Gold District is set to host Golden Lens: Ramadan Food Photography Workshop, a creative initiative designed to inspire aspiring photographers and content creators to craft meaningful visual stories that capture the spirit of the Holy Month. Created in collaboration with Nikon, the experience will bring together a select group of emerging creatives for an immersive journey that blends hospitality, culture, and storytelling.

Taking place on 21 February, the workshop is designed for creators looking to sharpen their skills and build their portfolios while learning how to transform food, ambience, and tradition into compelling visual narratives. The programme will begin at 4:00 PM with a structured workshop session where participants will receive professional guidance on food styling, lighting, composition, and storytelling techniques tailored for social and editorial content creation.

Following the theory-led session, participants will move to The Spicery, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, for a live practical shoot featuring a curated Ramadan buffet setup. This hands-on experience will allow photographers to apply their learning in real time, capturing the warmth and artistry of Ramadan dining within a professional hospitality environment.

Participants will also compete for the Best Photograph Collection, with prizes including a one-night stay for two at Novotel Dubai Gold District, dining experiences for two at The Spicery and World of Curry, along with additional surprise gifts sponsored by Nikon.

Beyond technical learning, the workshop aims to create a platform for emerging creators to collaborate, gain exposure, and build confidence through real-world creative experiences. Conducted by commercial photographer Maha Zarabian, the event reflects the hotel’s commitment to supporting Dubai’s growing creative community and encouraging storytelling that celebrates connection, culture, and creativity during Ramadan.
