A growing number of American companies are choosing Dubai’s economic zones as their base for regional operations, underscoring the emirate’s position as a global business hub.

Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant Executive Chairman of Investments and Partnerships at the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), revealed that over 112 US firms now operate within DIEZ’s three zones — Dubai Airport Free Zone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Dubai CommerCity.

Al Matrooshi said US companies make up around 3.4 percent of all businesses under DIEZ. Their operations span aviation, logistics, technology, consulting, and future industries, and include leading names such as Boeing, FedEx, Abbott, DHL, and Coca-Cola.

Al Matrooshi said DIEZ continues to enhance services and streamline business operations to attract more international investors. The authority’s strategy focuses on creating new economic opportunities, improving ease of doing business, and keeping pace with global transformation across key sectors.

He noted that DIEZ’s integrated ecosystem plays a vital role in strengthening Dubai’s competitiveness and supporting the national economy. The authority regularly introduces programmes and incentives that encourage investment and innovation, helping businesses expand sustainably.

Highlighting the wider economic impact, Al Matrooshi said Dubai’s free zones contributed about 67 percent of the emirate’s total foreign direct investment, valued at AED298 billion in 2023. He added that this strong performance reflects Dubai’s solid economic foundations and its growing appeal as a destination for global capital and enterprise.
