Parkin Company PJSC has announced further details regarding the Variable Parking Tariff Policy, set to come into effect across Dubai on 4 April 2025. Introduced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the new policy applies differentiated peak and off-peak tariffs to both public and private parking portfolios.

Expanded Coverage and Categorisation

The policy covers 100% of the public parking portfolio and will now extend to approximately 35% of private developer parking spaces, a notable revision from the earlier expectation of 0%. This adjustment follows continued discussions between Parkin and the RTA.

Public parking will now be divided into:

  • Premium Parking (40%): Located in high-demand, densely populated areas, often near public transport hubs. These zones will be clearly marked with signage and tariff details.
  • Standard Parking (60%): Comprises the remainder of the public portfolio.

For private developer spaces, 35% will be integrated into the Variable Parking Tariff Policy starting 4 April 2025. A full breakdown of tariffs for these areas is available on the Parkin website, mobile app, and social media platforms.

Multi-Storey Car Parks (MSCPs) and Tariff Consistency

As of year-end 2024, Parkin operated 3,200 parking spaces across six Multi-Storey Car Parks (MSCPs). Tariffs for MSCPs will remain unchanged at AED 5 per hour, applicable 24/7 throughout the year, with a capped fee of AED 40 for parking durations exceeding eight hours in any 24-hour period.

Special Tariffs for Grand Events at DWTC

To manage increased demand during major events, a grand events tariff of AED 25 per hour will apply between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM in the vicinity of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). This rate will be in effect for approximately 200 parking spaces during key exhibitions.

Scheduled 2025 events at DWTC triggering this tariff include:

  • GITEX (13–17 October)
  • Beautyworld Middle East (27–29 October)
  • Gulfood Manufacturing (4–6 November)
  • The Big 5 (24–27 November)
  • Automechanika Dubai (9–11 December)

Parkin encourages all motorists and residents to stay informed by accessing tariff details via official channels and to plan their parking accordingly as the new structure takes effect.
