The global events industry is booming, with a market size of $1.2 trillion in 2023, expected to soar to $1.75 trillion by 2032.

In response to this rapid growth, Platinumlist, a top online ticketing platform in the MENA region, has unveiled a secure and innovative mobile ticketing system to meet rising demand.

Transitioning from traditional PDF tickets, Platinumlist's new system features dynamic QR codes that refresh several times per minute, preventing fraud by blocking screenshots. This cutting-edge technology also supports safe ticket transfers, allowing users to easily gift or share tickets with friends and family. With governments, including those in the UAE and Bahrain, warning citizens about the dangers of ticket fraud, Platinumlist's move addresses this growing issue. In 2022, UK citizens alone lost £6.2 million due to ticket scams.

Importantly, the new dynamic QR codes work exclusively within the Platinumlist app and remain functional even offline. Since its launch, the platform has seen significant results: mobile ticket sales have surged 15-fold, and reports of fraud for events using this technology have dropped by 85%.

Platinumlist CEO Cosmin Ivan emphasized the increasing demand for both convenience and security, stating,

“PDF tickets are becoming outdated, and customers are seeking a higher level of comfort and safety. Our new mobile tickets, with features like screenshot protection and offline functionality, represent the future of ticketing.”

In addition to bolstering security, mobile tickets are eco-friendly, helping reduce paper waste—a significant issue, as the U.S. alone uses 4 million tons of paper annually.
