Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that 395.3 million riders used public transport, shared mobility, and taxis in the first half of 2025, marking a 9% increase from the same period last year.

The daily average ridership rose to 2.18 million, up from 1.98 million in H1 2024.

Dubai Metro accounted for the largest share of trips at 36.5%, followed by taxis (26%) and public buses (24%). Among Metro stations, BurJuman recorded the highest usage with 8.6 million riders, while Dubai Tram served 4.9 million passengers, marine transport 9.7 million, and shared mobility services 37.6 million.

HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of RTA, credited the growth to Dubai’s integrated mobility network and user trust in the system’s efficiency. He highlighted ongoing developments, including the 30 km Metro Blue Line, new Euro 6 and electric buses, and enhanced station infrastructure to further drive sustainability and connectivity.

These efforts align with the Dubai 2040 Urban Plan and RTA’s aim to raise the public transport and shared mobility share to 25% by 2030.
