Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e& UAE, announced that the company’s subscriber base in the UAE has now exceeded 14.5 million. This milestone reflects e& UAE's commitment to providing innovative services and products that meet customers’ evolving needs, reinforcing its leadership in the communications and information technology sector.

Masood highlighted that e& UAE’s significant investments in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things have enhanced operational efficiency and competitiveness. This dedication to innovation has not only solidified e& UAE’s regional and global leadership but also reinforced the UAE’s status as a global hub for innovation and technology.

In the first quarter of 2024, e& UAE maintained its top position as the strongest brand in the telecommunications sector worldwide. The company received the ISO 37001:2016 certificate for its anti-bribery management system from the APAC Centre of Excellence, underscoring its commitment to ethical business practices.

During this period, e& UAE became the first operator to join Yahsat's direct connection to devices (D2D) service, providing satellite communication via smartphones. The company also successfully tested 50G PON technology in fixed broadband services, a first in the Middle East.

Masood emphasized e& UAE's strategic initiatives in 2024 to strengthen its leadership in communications and information technology. The company concluded several strategic agreements and partnerships to support digital transformation in the UAE and promote innovation. These initiatives included providing advanced communication solutions to UAE companies, collaborating with Huawei to test the first-of-its-kind 800GE router in the MENA region, and deploying Microsoft's Azure Operator Nexus solutions and Azure Operator 5G Core outside North America.

e& UAE also achieved notable partnerships to enhance 5G network capabilities, including collaborations with Ericsson and Nokia, and partnered with Corning Incorporated to provide Fiber to Yachts (FTTY) service at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.

Masood highlighted the launch of the National Programme for Establishing Businesses, designed to support UAE-owned companies in selling and marketing e& UAE’s services and solutions. He also noted a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry to advance business growth through innovative communication solutions and special packages for SMEs in the UAE.

Furthermore, Masood stressed the importance of the strategic partnership with the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem, supporting emerging companies, and facilitating their access to e& UAE’s communications and digital solutions.

Through these efforts, e& UAE continues to lead the way in driving digital transformation and innovation, ensuring high-quality services and maintaining its strong market position both regionally and globally.
