Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has earned global recognition from the Global Benchmarking Network for its Dubai Traffix programme, which was accredited and classified within the seven-star category as one of the world’s most innovative best practices in traffic engineering.
The recognition underscores Dubai’s leadership in modern engineering systems and its growing influence in global urban mobility innovation.
The Dubai Traffix programme, developed by RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, is an integrated digital platform designed to streamline traffic impact studies and infrastructure planning. It connects land-use assessments with road and transport strategies, ensuring urban development keeps pace with Dubai’s rapid growth. Since its launch, the programme has supported over 4,000 traffic impact studies and facilitated 180 agreements with key development partners.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, described the system as a game-changer in traffic engineering. He said Dubai Traffix has strengthened the link between urban planning and transport infrastructure, helping anticipate traffic volumes and improve travel efficiency.
Launched in 2017 and officially registered as RTA’s intellectual property in 2024, the programme received top global ratings in innovation, performance, and efficiency from the International Jury Committee earlier this year.
RTA’s recognition reflects its commitment to continuous innovation and global leadership in mobility solutions. Al Banna reaffirmed that initiatives like Dubai Traffix align with RTA’s vision to be the world leader in seamless and sustainable mobility, setting new benchmarks for modern cities worldwide.
