Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with Al-Futtaim Automotive to deploy 360 electric and hybrid vehicles for key conferences and events over the next three years.
This strategic partnership supports RTA's sustainable transport network and the 'Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050' strategy. The agreement also includes support for the development of electric charging technology and infrastructure.
The initiative aims to transition all buses, taxis, and limousines to zero-emissions vehicles by 2050, with the goal of converting 100% of public buses to electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles by 2050 and all taxis by 2040.
Al-Futtaim Automotive will supply a total of 360 vehicles, including 10 electric buses, 250 electric vehicles, and 100 hybrid vehicles. They will also provide necessary charging infrastructure and technical support. The partnership demonstrates the commitment to collaboration between the public and private sectors in driving sustainable transportation and achieving environmental goals in the UAE.
