RTA and e& UAE Collaborate to Advance Digital Mobility Solutions

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai recently hosted a pivotal meeting with a delegation from e& UAE, focusing on the integration of cutting-edge technologies in mobility and communication systems.

The discussion centered on joint projects aimed at enhancing Dubai’s mobility infrastructure and developing innovative solutions for the digital age.

Key technologies, including 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT), were explored for their potential to improve smart mobility services. The collaboration aims to enhance comfort, safety, and overall quality of life for public transport users in the emirate. Real-time data on traffic movement and logistics services, facilitated by advanced communication networks, will contribute to smoother traffic flow and reduced congestion.

The RTA presented its digital initiatives under Phase I of its Digital Strategy 2023-2030, which includes 82 projects across seven critical areas: digital twin technology, metaverse, robotics, AI, IoT, data analytics, and enterprise solutions. The strategy aims to create a fully flexible digital infrastructure, drive fintech-enabled mobility, and increase digital adoption to 95% while advancing employee digital empowerment.

Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services, emphasized the role of these technologies in revolutionizing Dubai's transport systems, stating,

“We aim to establish leadership in intelligent transport systems by harnessing the power of 5G, AI, and IoT.”
