Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Etihad Rail have officially opened a new 1.8-kilometre, signal-controlled flyover on Al Yalayis Street, designed to ease traffic and support the UAE’s expanding railway network.
The three-lane flyover improves access to Dubai Investment Park with dedicated right-turn slip roads for vehicles entering from Dubai and exiting toward Sheikh Zayed Road. It aims to optimise traffic movement, enhance road safety, and separate vehicle traffic from train operations, allowing trains to travel freely along the median strip without disrupting road users.
The project marks a key step in the RTA’s broader efforts to integrate road and rail infrastructure while supporting the national railway’s smooth movement across major urban areas. By keeping trains and vehicles at separate levels, the flyover reduces congestion and supports a safer, more efficient transport system.
Etihad Rail reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with UAE authorities to deliver world-class rail services for passengers and goods. The new flyover is expected to further facilitate the movement of trains, strengthen connections across Dubai, and contribute to the country’s economic growth and sustainable development.
Plans are already underway to extend the flyover towards Jumeirah Golf Estates, with a two-lane road in each direction, reinforcing Dubai’s strategy to expand its road network and improve overall connectivity.
