Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has entered into a partnership with the Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Group to set up three air-to-water dispensers at rest areas for delivery riders, part of the project's Phase I. The agreement was signed by Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the Licensing Agency for RTA, and Ali Al-Abdullah, Managing Director of Government Affairs & Corporate Real Estate at Majid Al Futtaim.
These air-to-water dispensers, provided by Majid Al Futtaim, utilize advanced technology to convert atmospheric humidity into potable water. At 30 degrees Celsius and 65% humidity, each dispenser can produce approximately 100 liters of drinking water daily.
Abdullah Yousef Al Ali highlighted that this collaboration demonstrates RTA's commitment to working with the private sector to ensure the safety of delivery bike drivers, thereby enhancing the transportation system's safety and convenience for all residents and visitors in Dubai. He also emphasized Majid Al Futtaim Group's dedication to social responsibility. This sustainable solution not only supplies safe drinking water to delivery drivers but also reduces environmental impact.
RTA's initiative to create 40 air-conditioned rest areas for delivery riders aims to regulate and improve the safety and well-being of those in the growing delivery sector. Several rest areas have been completed, with the rest scheduled to be built in three phases.
RTA expressed appreciation for Majid Al Futtaim's role in providing safe drinking water, essential for the health and well-being of delivery drivers working long hours outdoors.
