RTA Awards AED 1.5 Billion Contract for Al Fay Street Development

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a contract worth AED 1.5 billion to develop the Al Fay Street project, aimed at enhancing connectivity and infrastructure across the emirate.

Spanning from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Emirates Road via Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, the project includes the construction of five key intersections, 13.5 kilometers of bridges, and 12.9 kilometers of roads. Once completed, Al Fay Street will accommodate up to 64,400 vehicles per hour, benefiting residential and developmental areas with an estimated population and visitor base of 600,000.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, described the project as a strategic addition to Dubai’s road network.

“The Al Fay Street Development Project is a pivotal infrastructure initiative, establishing a new strategic corridor among the emirate's main roads and significantly enhancing east-west connectivity,”

he said.

The development will serve several key areas, including Dubai Sports City, Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Production City, Jumeirah Golf Estates, and DAMAC Lagoons. It will facilitate seamless traffic flow along Al Khail Road, improve movement between Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road, and enhance road safety for users.

This ambitious project underscores RTA’s commitment to providing efficient infrastructure solutions to support Dubai’s growing urban and economic landscape.
