Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is launching a new infrastructure project to build a two-lane, 700-metre bridge in Nad Al Sheba, aiming to dramatically reduce travel time and ease congestion for residents.

The bridge will directly connect inbound traffic from Dubai–Al Ain Road to Nad Al Sheba, cutting journey times by 83%, from six minutes to just one.

Designed to handle 2,600 vehicles per hour, the bridge will support around 30,000 residents in the area, improving traffic flow and reducing pressure on key entry and exit points. Construction is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 and is expected to complete by the end of 2026.

This project is part of RTA’s broader strategy to enhance Dubai’s road network efficiency and safety amid rapid population growth and urban expansion. It aligns with Dubai’s leadership vision to become the world’s best city for living and mobility by delivering sustainable, integrated transport solutions.

In addition to the new bridge, RTA recently inaugurated a 170-metre bridge at Nad Al Sheba Street and Dubai–Al Ain Road, featuring two lanes each way to facilitate smoother traffic flow towards Nad Al Sheba, Meydan, and nearby developments. Traffic improvements near schools like Repton and Al Khaleej International have also eased congestion, with added parking and designated drop-off zones enhancing safety during peak hours.

Other upgrades include converting a busy intersection into a roundabout, cutting delay times by 50%, and new access points from Meydan Street reducing travel times by 60%. The integrated road network improvements within Nad Al Sheba’s neighborhoods further strengthen connectivity and traffic efficiency, reflecting RTA’s commitment to responsive, community-focused infrastructure development.
