RTA Completes Preventive Maintenance on Major Roads in Dubai
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully completed preventive maintenance on 14 major roads and 9 key intersections across the emirate in the third quarter of 2024.
This initiative is part of RTA’s ongoing strategy to enhance road network efficiency, sustainability, and safety, aligning with its vision of becoming a global leader in seamless and sustainable mobility.
The maintenance covered significant streets including Dubai-Al Ain Road, Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road, and Ras Al Khor Road, along with key intersections in six residential areas and one commercial zone. RTA focused on renewing pavement layers, repairing damage from natural factors, and repaving sections of asphalt and tiles, improving road conditions across highways, freeways, and arterial roads.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, emphasized the importance of these efforts in ensuring safety and structural integrity.
“We prioritize the sustainability of Dubai’s infrastructure, aiming to provide safe and efficient roads for all users,”
Al Banna said.
“This maintenance is a key part of our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors.”
RTA’s maintenance work utilizes the latest smart technologies to monitor road conditions, predict lifespan, and ensure timely interventions. These efforts are designed to reduce congestion, maintain smooth traffic flow, and minimize disruptions during maintenance periods.
This comprehensive approach to infrastructure upkeep is in line with Dubai’s rapid urban development, ensuring that the city’s roadways remain safe, efficient, and ready for future growth.
