Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has implemented “Quick Wins” at the Ras Al Khor–Al Meydan Street Intersection, widening the right-turn lanes from two to three to accommodate rising traffic volumes.
Scheduled for completion by 10 August, the upgrade will boost capacity from 1,800 to 2,700 vehicles per hour — a 30% increase — improving connectivity between Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Nad Al Sheba, and key destinations including Business Bay, Ghadeer Al Tair, Al Quoz, and Al Safa.
The initiative is expected to reduce congestion and waiting times at peak hours while enhancing safety and travel efficiency. The project forms part of RTA’s strategic infrastructure plan, which prioritises road enhancements based on traffic studies, control centre data, public feedback, and field monitoring.
By improving operational efficiency and keeping pace with Dubai’s urban growth, RTA aims to deliver faster, safer, and more reliable journeys for all road users.
