RTA Introduces nol Card Payments for E-Scooters

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced nol Card as a payment option for electric scooter users, enhancing convenience and supporting Dubai’s shift toward a cashless economy. This move integrates nol Card into the payment systems of RTA-approved e-scooter operators, particularly near public transport hubs, to improve first and last-mile connectivity.

Users can now link their nol Card via NFC technology on scooter operator apps to purchase hourly, daily, or monthly packages. The nol Card is already widely used for public transport, parking, retail purchases, and access to public facilities, making it a versatile payment tool across the emirate.

RTA has also launched specialised nol packages for students and travelers, offering discounts on transportation and various sectors like shopping and entertainment.

As part of its modernisation efforts, RTA is transitioning from traditional card-based ticketing to an account-based system. This new system will enhance electronic security, improve operational efficiency, and introduce features like trip planning and pre-payment, further supporting Dubai’s smart mobility goals.
