Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a new initiative to enhance road connections across 19 residential areas in the emirate, covering a total length of 11.5 km.

The project, aimed at addressing the needs of Dubai’s expanding population, includes key upgrades such as improved traffic flow, roadside parking, sidewalks, and street lighting.

The initiative is designed to improve accessibility, streamline vehicle entry and exit, and reduce travel time by up to 40%. It will also ensure a safer and more efficient driving experience for residents and visitors, aligning with RTA's mission to enhance the quality of life and promote road safety.

The upgraded roads will provide smoother access to residential areas while supporting the ongoing urban development of Dubai. The project will span 19 areas including Al Khawaneej 1, Al Barsha South 1, Jumeirah 1, Zabeel 1, Muhaisnah 1, and several others.

The timeline for the project is set for completion in the second quarter of 2026, with RTA working towards delivering seamless mobility solutions for all road users. The improvements are part of RTA's continued efforts to boost operational efficiency, increase road capacity, and ensure Dubai's streets remain among the safest and most efficient globally.

With these upgrades, RTA is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable urban development and its vision of becoming the global leader in seamless mobility.
