Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is marking the holy month of Ramadan with 20 diverse initiatives aimed at promoting community engagement, generosity, and unity.
These activities, hosted at RTA headquarters, metro stations, and marine transport hubs, are designed to bring joy to employees, volunteers, and people in need, including people of determination, orphans, and low-income individuals.
Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, highlighted that this year’s initiatives align with the UAE leadership’s 2025 vision for ‘The Year of Community.’ He said,
“RTA aims to support various segments of society, both locally and internationally, reflecting our core values of tolerance and collaboration.”
Key Initiatives Supporting the Community
Among the standout programs are the ‘Iftar Saem’ initiative, in partnership with Beit Al Khair Society, and the ‘Meals on Wheels’ initiative. These programs will provide Iftar meals to bus drivers, delivery riders, truck drivers, and workers in labour accommodations, as well as abra commuters. In total, 5,000 Iftar meals will be distributed at metro stations, along with symbolic gifts for labourers.
A special highlight is the ‘Ramadan Rations’ initiative, launching on Zayed Humanitarian Workday, which honours the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This program will provide low-income families with essential food supplies using nol cards.
Engaging RTA Employees in the Spirit of Giving
The RTA has also planned 15 engaging activities for its employees, including communal Iftars, support for low-income staff, and the distribution of clothing and food supplies. These efforts aim to enhance solidarity and create a positive atmosphere for all during this blessed month.
Through these initiatives, RTA continues to uphold its commitment to social responsibility, ensuring that Ramadan 2025 is a time of compassion, support, and shared humanity across Dubai’s diverse community.
