Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled an integrated scholarship programme for 15 students born on September 9, 2009, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the Dubai Metro.
The programme, aligned with Dubai Social Agenda 33 and inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to nurture the next generation of Emirati talent.
The scholarship will support students through three phases. The first, lasting two years in school, involves practical training at RTA during school breaks, alongside participation in railway-focused programmes. The second phase supports university education, offering scholarships for bachelor's degrees in railway-related engineering, while continuing hands-on training with RTA. Finally, the third phase ensures employment at RTA’s Rail Agency, with graduates joining a Fast Track Programme designed to hone technical and administrative skills.
RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer emphasised the importance of nurturing Emirati talent in line with Dubai's vision for future mobility.
"By fostering a nurturing environment, we are preparing a new generation of leaders capable of crafting innovative solutions to drive Dubai’s progress,"
Al Tayer stated.
The initiative reflects RTA’s commitment to developing Emirati professionals, offering rapid career advancement and leadership opportunities. This launch follows other initiatives such as the ‘Professional Engineering Career Path’ and ‘Fast Track,’ aimed at attracting top Emirati graduates and equipping them with the skills to shape Dubai’s transportation future.
