Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially launched the ‘Green Fleet Rating System,’ a key initiative designed to reinforce sustainable practices within Dubai's commercial transport activities.
Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, introduced a dedicated system in Dubai to promote eco-friendly commercial transport. The system implements a comprehensive rating system for commercial transport activities aimed at reducing emissions from commercial vehicles. It encourages companies to adopt green technologies to minimize carbon footprint, enhance air quality, promote environmental sustainability, and improve public health in Dubai. Companies involved in transport and leasing activities under RTA's jurisdiction can participate in the 'Green Fleet Rating System,' receiving digital 'Green certificates' for adhering to environmental management best practices. This initiative aims to enhance corporate social responsibility standards and offers incentives to incentivize the adoption of greener methodologies.
The system includes a comprehensive guide and rating system designed to assess companies' environmental practices. This approach fosters a competitive atmosphere and encourages companies to enhance their use of eco-friendly transportation methods. More details on the guide are available on RTA’s website.
