Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of a new intercity bus service between Dubai and Sharjah, set to begin operations on Friday, May 2.

Alongside the new service, several existing bus routes across the city will be adjusted to enhance connectivity and commuter experience.

The newly introduced Route E308 will link Stadium Bus Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah, with a one-way fare priced at Dh12. The RTA stated the changes aim to offer passengers a smoother, more efficient, and comfortable commuting experience across the network.

Among the key adjustments, Route 17 will now terminate at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha, while Route 24 will be rerouted within the Al Nahda 1 area. Route 44 will be redirected to serve Dubai Festival City, and Route 56 will be extended to reach DWC Staff Village.

Several other routes, including Routes 66, 67, 32C, C26, E16, F12, F27, F47, F54, and X92, will see modifications such as new stops, extensions, or route realignments to improve service coverage and better integrate with Dubai’s metro, tram, and marine transport systems.

Adel Shakeri, director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said the move is part of ongoing efforts to expand the public transport network and strengthen intermodal connectivity, making public transport the preferred choice for mobility across Dubai.

The RTA advised commuters to review the updated bus schedules ahead of May 2 to plan their journeys accordingly.
