Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has opened the Al Ruwayyah Yard, a new dedicated facility designed to regulate parking for caravans, boats, trailers, and food vending vehicles, reinforcing the emirate’s drive for sustainable urban organisation and improved quality of life.

The project provides structured and secure parking to address challenges linked to random and unregulated vehicle storage across residential areas and road right-of-way zones. By streamlining parking activity, the initiative supports traffic safety, preserves the city’s visual appeal, and strengthens Dubai’s reputation as a global destination for living, tourism, and business.

Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, said the yard delivers integrated parking solutions aligned with the authority’s broader sustainability and urban development goals. He noted that the facility offers 335 dedicated parking spaces supported by modern infrastructure.

According to Al Ali, the project plays a key role in curbing unregulated practices while ensuring smoother traffic flow and safeguarding road corridors. It also forms part of a wider programme to optimise the use of RTA assets, including land plots across the emirate.

The authority is currently studying the expansion of similar services to additional locations in Dubai to improve accessibility for individuals and companies and achieve broader coverage.

Al Ruwayyah Yard has been implemented and is being managed in partnership with a specialised private sector company. RTA said the collaboration reflects its commitment to public private partnerships and aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, supporting sustainable economic growth and the delivery of advanced public services.
