Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has launched applications for its Academic Scholarship Programme for the 2026-2027 academic year, targeting Emirati high-school graduates and current university students with strong academic records.
The programme, which has been running since 2009, focuses on specialised majors tied to the future of smart mobility. Priority fields include autonomous mobility, roads engineering, advanced traffic systems, smart city planning, and Geographic Information Systems.
Athari Mohamed, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development at RTA, said the initiative is designed to build a pipeline of Emirati talent capable of driving transformation in the transport sector.
"Our focus is on attracting and developing talent in artificial intelligence, advanced data analytics, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and autonomous mobility,"
she noted.
The scholarship aligns with Dubai's broader push to prepare a generation of qualified professionals who can lead digital transformation and support the city's long-term infrastructure ambitions. RTA said it takes a forward-looking approach to ensure scholarship outcomes remain aligned with its strategic priorities.
Beyond academic development, the programme aims to strengthen RTA's institutional readiness and build national capabilities in strategic decision-making and forecasting, reinforcing Dubai's standing as a global hub for transport innovation.
Interested applicants can visit RTA's official website to review programme details and submit applications within the designated period.
