Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) opened a new 600-metre, four-lane bridge today at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and the link road connecting Arabian Ranches with Dubai Studio City.

The project is part of the wider Al Qudra Road development aimed at easing congestion and enhancing connectivity across the emirate’s key east–west corridors.

The bridge significantly improves traffic capacity, raising the flow from 6,600 to 19,200 vehicles per hour, while reducing waiting times at the junction by 55%, cutting delays from 113 seconds to 52 seconds. The project also includes the construction of additional bridges, auxiliary lanes, and service roads designed to support uninterrupted traffic movement.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Director General, said the project aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and supports Dubai’s expanding urban landscape.

“The development strengthens key intersections, increases road capacity, and shortens journey times by up to 70%, benefiting residents, visitors, and businesses across the corridor,”

he added.

The strategic corridor extends from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street to Emirates Road, serving major communities including Arabian Ranches, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, DAMAC Hills, Mudon, and The Sustainable City. Upcoming infrastructure includes a 700-metre northern bridge on Al Qudra Road set to open on 15 February, along with additional bridges and widened lanes to further improve connectivity.

Overall, the Al Qudra Road development project spans 11.6 km, incorporating multiple intersections and bridges to accommodate an estimated 400,000 residents and visitors. The upgrades aim to ensure smoother traffic flow, enhance road safety, and support economic growth across Dubai’s rapidly developing communities.
