RTA Reports 20% Surge in Compliance Amid Enhanced Licensing Inspections

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recorded a 20% increase in compliance among service providers in 2024, following intensified inspection and audit operations across licensing activities. Despite the rise in enforcement efforts, recorded violations dropped by 3%, signaling improved adherence to regulations.

Throughout 2024, RTA conducted approximately 579,000 inspection and audit operations, a 20% increase from 2023. The authority attributes this success to advanced data analysis technologies and enhanced violation detection tools, allowing for more precise inspections and targeted regulatory oversight.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, highlighted the role of technology and inter-agency collaboration in boosting compliance.

“By leveraging data-driven insights and strengthening partnerships with relevant authorities, we have significantly improved inspection accuracy and regulatory coordination,”

he stated.

In addition to routine inspections, RTA expanded awareness initiatives, executing 30 campaigns in partnership with nine entities across Dubai. These efforts contributed to heightened regulatory awareness and reinforced compliance across various sectors.

Mahboob emphasized that the decline in violations reflects RTA’s proactive approach to educating service providers and ensuring adherence to approved standards. Moving forward, RTA is implementing strategic development initiatives to further optimize operational efficiency and address emerging regulatory challenges.
