RTA Resumes Marine Transport Services for Water Canal and Business Bay
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has resumed marine transport services for residential areas along the Water Canal and Business Bay after completing significant enhancement works.
The service now operates on two lines, providing connections to key tourist destinations and improving public transport accessibility in the area. This initiative aligns with RTA’s goal of enhancing service quality, supporting Dubai’s tourism, and integrating marine transport with other mobility options like bicycles and e-scooters.
Khalaf Hassan Abdullah Belghuzooz Al Zarooni, Director of Marine Transport at RTA, stated,
“Resuming these lines supports economic growth and improves the quality of life by facilitating movement to waterfront development projects. It also aligns with the Marine Transport Plan 2020-2030, catering to growing demand and boosting the appeal of marine transport in Dubai.”
The first line, DC2, runs from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Sundays. It connects Waterfront, Marasi, Business Bay, Godolphin, and Sheikh Zayed Road stations with 30-50 minute intervals.
The second line, DC3, operates from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM on weekends, linking Al Jaddaf Station and Dubai Design District Marine Transport Station. Running every 35 minutes, this line offers seamless access to Creek Metro Station via Dubai Design District, with fares set at AED 2 per stop on both lines.
