The 14th Global Transport and Transportation Technology Conference and Exhibition (InnoTrans 2024) has commenced in Berlin under the theme “The Future of Mobility.”
This year's event is the largest in its history, attracting over 137,000 attendees and featuring more than 2,900 exhibitors from 59 countries. The conference focuses on six key areas: digital transformation in railway transport, innovative transport interior designs, sustainability in tunnels, financing train infrastructure, railway innovation, and future mass transit solutions.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is participating for the sixth time, showcasing key initiatives such as the Dubai Metro Blue Line project, smart metro stations, and a unified nol card system for fare payments. His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, RTA's Director General and Commissioner General for Infrastructure, led the delegation, which included various RTA directors and engineers.
The conference's opening session featured prominent figures, including Germany's Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, His Excellency Dr. Volker Wissing. During his tour of the exhibition, Al Tayer explored advanced innovations in rail management, digital transformation, and sustainability, including emissions-free transport solutions from companies like CAF and CRRC.
RTA's stand highlighted the Dubai Metro Blue Line, which spans 30 km, connects 14 stations, and aims to accommodate 320,000 riders daily by 2040. Al Tayer also held meetings with various industry leaders and witnessed the signing of several agreements, including a contract for advertising on the Dubai Tram.
Reflecting on RTA’s participation, Al Tayer emphasized the importance of adapting to rapid advancements in train technology, stating that the event provides invaluable opportunities to connect with global experts and enhance public transport services in Dubai.
