Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has signed a cooperation agreement with Union Properties PJSC to enhance the management and regulation of road right-of-way across key development areas, reinforcing efforts to improve traffic safety and infrastructure standards in the emirate.
The agreement, aligned with Law No. 4 of 2021 on road regulation in Dubai, aims to support efficient project delivery while maintaining high service levels and compliance with approved regulatory frameworks. It was signed by Hussain Al Banna on behalf of RTA and Amer Khansaheb representing Union Properties.
Officials said the collaboration will focus on strengthening coordination in road right-of-way management, preserving Dubai’s urban landscape, and ensuring sustainable infrastructure operations. The initiative is expected to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians across development zones.
Union Properties highlighted the agreement as a step toward deeper integration between developers and regulatory authorities. The company noted that the partnership will help establish a unified framework for managing road infrastructure, particularly within projects such as MotorCity, while supporting long-term asset sustainability and quality of life.
The move forms part of RTA’s broader strategy to work closely with major developers and free zones across Dubai. Similar agreements have already been signed with entities including Emaar Properties, DAMAC Properties, and Majid Al Futtaim Properties, among others, to standardise road management practices and support the emirate’s continued urban growth.
