RTA Unveils Digital Payment Excellence Centre to Advance Nol Payment Innovation

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has inaugurated the Digital Payment Excellence Centre, a pivotal initiative designed to revolutionize the nol payment system and enhance user experience through advanced digital solutions.

This development is aligned with Dubai’s vision of becoming the world’s smartest city, focusing on the implementation of Account-Based Ticketing System (ABTS) technology.

Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector at RTA, emphasized the centre’s mission:

“The primary objective of the Digital Payment Excellence Centre is to lead research and innovation in digital payment technologies, anticipate future trends, and address current challenges. This enables us to enhance payment solutions within public transportation and advance the nol system with innovative, forward-looking strategies.”

The Digital Payment Excellence Centre will serve as a collaborative hub, bringing together experts from finance, government, and academia to work on initiatives such as research, data analysis, and consultancy services. This partnership aims to boost knowledge-sharing and build sector-wide capacities, fostering the development of advanced digital payment policies.

Moreover, the Centre will promote public awareness of digital payment technologies through specialized events, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions. Al Mudharreb highlighted that the centre’s findings will drive policy formulation, streamline operations, and improve user experience across Dubai’s transportation network.

This initiative underscores RTA’s commitment to leading Dubai’s journey toward smart mobility, providing residents and visitors with cutting-edge, efficient payment options across the city’s transit systems.
