Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will stage the first Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference, known as EV World 2026, from November 10 to 12 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The event will run under the theme Driving a Smart and Sustainable Mobility Future and is set to draw more than 300 local and international companies, authorities and organisations.

Organisers expect over 30 business partners, 70 speakers and more than 10,000 industry specialists and visitors. Exhibitors will showcase technologies spanning electric vehicle manufacturing, battery management, hydrogen fuel cells, fast-charging stations, smart infrastructure, autonomous systems, unmanned aerial vehicles and AI applications.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, said the event reaffirms Dubai's standing as a global hub for innovation and the future economy. He described it as a platform for exchanging expertise, forging partnerships and attracting high-value investment into electric and smart mobility.

Preparations are well under way. Al Tayer met Dr. Zhang Yongwei, Chairman of China EV100, to discuss deeper cooperation, and RTA signed an agreement with the alliance to expand Chinese participation. The Organising Committee has also held promotional visits and meetings in China, Germany, Belgium and India to widen its international network.

The event ties into RTA's Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050 strategy, which made it the first entity in the Middle East to set a long-term net-zero target for public transport. Hybrid vehicles now make up more than 72 percent of the taxi and limousine fleet, while electric vehicles account for 19 percent, ahead of the 2026 target. RTA aims to convert the entire fleet to electric and hydrogen power by 2040.
