Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been awarded the prestigious Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) Global Leadership Award in Energy Management for 2024, under the Energy Management Insight Awards category.
This recognition highlights RTA’s exceptional leadership in sustainable energy practices and its commitment to advancing global awareness of energy management systems.
The award was granted for RTA’s case study on the ISO 50001 Energy Management System, which showcased its innovative approach to integrating energy efficiency into its operations. This milestone underscores RTA’s role as a pioneer in clean energy initiatives and a driving force behind international best practices.
RTA’s adoption of ISO 50001 served as a foundation for its sustainability strategy, culminating in the launch of the Net-Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050 plan. By aligning with Dubai’s vision for a sustainable future, RTA continues to implement measures that optimize resources and reduce environmental impact.
Nada Jasim, Director of Safety and Risk Regulation and Planning at RTA, expressed pride in the achievement, stating,
“Winning the Energy Management Insight Award is a testament to RTA’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development. By integrating energy management systems into our operations, we are not only improving energy efficiency but also contributing to the broader goal of creating a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
