RTA receives prestigious Bronze Award from RoSPA for outstanding Fleet Safety efforts
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) won the Bronze Award from the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in the United Kingdom under the category of Fleet Safety.
RoSPA is renowned among the leading establishments in health and safety. The award serves to acknowledge the efforts of agencies in the sectors concerned with maintaining health and safety.
RTA garnered this award for an initiative to provide professional, specialised training for public bus drivers. The award acknowledges RTA's commitment to cutting down public bus incidents, enhancing workplace safety, and raising driver awareness on the importance of safe driving for their safety and the safety of passengers.

“Securing an international award brings with it a responsibility for RTA to continue its pursuit of excellence and to fortify its standing in the public transport sector. It also reinforces its commitment to elevating driver safety while delivering superior, safe services to customers and the public. “The move aimed at achieving the RTA's vision of becoming a world leader in seamless and sustainable mobility,”
said Sultan Ibrahim Al Akraf, Director of Drivers Affairs, Public Transport Agency, RTA.
“RTA prioritised its drivers, equipping them with all necessary means to foster traffic culture to achieve the highest traffic safety levels for all road users,”
added Al Akraf.
Developing Training Programmes
RTA has revamped and upgraded the training programmes for drivers to the highest international standards, complemented by the Drivers Affairs Department securing a level 3 diploma. It is worth noting that the drivers’ training initiative stands out by employing methods that harmonise with the variables to boost the efficiency of training and enhance its outcomes.
