Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been honoured with the SAS UAE Award for Innovative Transportation AI Use Cases.
This prestigious award recognizes RTA’s pioneering efforts in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to traffic management and developing AI-based solutions through strategic partnerships and collaborations with leading global companies.
A major factor contributing to RTA’s achievement is its early investment in Big Data and AI solutions. The authority boasts one of the largest Big Data platforms, enabling rapid and high-quality data collection and analysis. This facilitates the creation of dashboards that assist management in making data-driven decisions. Additionally, RTA’s Corporate AI Platform processes data and trains AI algorithms, accelerating the development of AI models. This platform also includes tools to monitor AI performance and govern decisions, supporting Dubai’s strategy to become the world’s smartest city by enhancing resident well-being, promoting sustainability, and improving service efficiency.
The Smart Services Department of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector has played a crucial role in this success. In collaboration with SAS, a leader in business data analytics, RTA has trained Emiratis in AI applications and solutions, conducted brainstorming workshops, and benchmarked and monitored the implementation of AI technologies across the authority.
This award highlights RTA's commitment to innovation and its significant strides in integrating AI to revolutionize transportation in Dubai.
