RTA's Humanitarian Initiatives Benefit Over 29 Million People in 2024
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reaffirmed its commitment to social and humanitarian causes by implementing 63 initiatives in 2024, benefiting 29.224 million people locally and globally.
These efforts encompass support for orphans, underprivileged families, and people of determination, alongside international humanitarian aid.
Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, emphasized the Authority’s dedication to fostering social solidarity through corporate social responsibility. He highlighted RTA’s alignment with the UAE leadership’s vision of cooperation and sustainable giving.
RTA actively participated in the “Mother’s Endowment” campaign, benefiting 29 million people, and played a crucial role in relief efforts, including the "UAE Stands with Lebanon" initiative. During Storm Al Hadeer, RTA distributed meals at metro stations, initially supporting 1,800 individuals, later expanding to 3,300.
During Ramadan, RTA launched initiatives such as “Bringing Loved Ones Closer,” providing free communication services at metro stations, and “A Means for Good,” aiding 8,000 individuals, including drivers and laborers. The Authority also distributed Ramadan Ration packages to 2,540 low-income beneficiaries and collaborated on the “Iftar” initiative, benefiting 60,000 people.
Supporting vulnerable communities, RTA provided Eid clothing for children, gifts for National Charity Schools students, and organized outings for children battling cancer. Additionally, RTA facilitated trips for senior citizens during Eid Al Adha.
In cultural and educational contributions, RTA supported UAE Reading Month, benefiting 5,000 people, and provided transportation for the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature guests. It also marked national occasions by illuminating UAE landmarks and displaying Eid Al Etihad designs.
RTA remains committed to empowering people of determination, supporting initiatives such as the Noor Race, summer activities at Dubai Club for People of Determination, and AccessAbilities Expo 2024, showcasing inclusive transport services.
Through these initiatives, RTA continues to uphold its corporate and humanitarian values, strengthening social cohesion in the UAE and beyond.
