Russia and the UAE are set to deepen their economic cooperation as Dubai prepares to host the first UAE–Russia Business Forum on 10 December, bringing together senior officials, major companies and investment leaders from both countries.

The event aims to accelerate strategic partnerships across sectors where bilateral ties have already recorded strong growth.

The forum is organised by the Russia–UAE Business Council with support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Roscongress Foundation and the Marathon Investment Group. It will run alongside the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russia–UAE Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, also scheduled for the same day.

Officials say the gathering reflects the rising importance of the UAE as one of Russia’s key economic partners in the region. Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov highlighted the potential for mutual investments and joint projects, particularly in technology, logistics, manufacturing and IT startup development.

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, noted that cooperation is expanding in both traditional and non-resource sectors. He called the forum a step toward strengthening long-term collaboration within an evolving global economic landscape.

The event will feature leading companies, investment funds, and tech startups. Its central plenary session, Architecture of Long-Term Growth: New Opportunities for Both Countries, will see Russia–UAE Business Council Chairman Alexander Vinokurov outline the Council’s strategy for unlocking economic opportunities.

Key participants include UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov, and senior leaders from Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Gazprom-Media, and the Republic of Tatarstan.

The programme will also introduce an accelerator for Russian tech startups entering the UAE market and host discussions on co-investment tools, logistics development and future trade corridors.
