The SANS Institute has entered a strategic partnership with the UAE Cybersecurity Council aimed at strengthening the nation’s cyber resilience and advancing its long-term vision for a secure digital future.
The agreement was formalised at CyberQ 2025 in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Government Cybersecurity Council, and Ned Baltagi, Managing Director for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa at SANS Institute. The partnership brings together global expertise and national leadership to enhance cybersecurity readiness across critical sectors.
The collaboration focuses on improving the UAE’s capabilities in preventing, detecting, and responding to cyberattacks, while deepening understanding of emerging and future threats. A central pillar of the initiative is workforce development, with an emphasis on building advanced technical skills across both the public and private sectors.
As part of the engagement, SANS Institute conducted a workshop on cybersecurity in the quantum era and will roll out specialised training programmes in secure AI and quantum security. These programmes are designed to prepare professionals for next-generation technological risks.
The memorandum of understanding establishes a framework for access to globally recognised certifications, hands-on training, expert-led workshops, and knowledge exchange initiatives. Joint activities will include specialist missions, cross-sector training, and the sharing of threat intelligence and incident response insights.
Both organisations also committed to cooperation in information sharing, awareness initiatives, and advisory support. The partnership is expected to play a key role in developing national cyber talent, safeguarding digital assets, and reinforcing the UAE’s position as a global leader in cybersecurity.
