Sharjah announces 4-day weekend as it confirms holidays for Prophet’s birthday

The Emirate of Sharjah announced the official holiday dates to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

The Sharjah government announced a holiday for public sector workers on Thursday, September 28.

Those employees working with Sharjah’s public sector have a 4-day work week from Monday to Thursday, the holiday on September 28 sets them up for a four-day weekend for them.

Federal employees will resume work from Monday, October 2.

UAE workers get a long weekend in September

Additionally, the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced the official holiday to commemorate the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday.

Public and private sector employees in the country will have a holiday on Friday, September 29, to mark the day.

The holiday sets up an extended three-day weekend towards the end of September, especially for those who have the traditional Saturday-Sunday weekend format.

The public and private sectors in the Emirates typically have the same holidays.
