It’s essential to know how to lock apps on your iPhone to add an extra layer of security. While iPhones don’t offer a dedicated app-locking feature, you can use built-in workarounds like Screen Time and Guided Access for added protection.
Screen Time for App Limits
Screen Time lets you set time limits for apps. Once the limit is reached, apps can only be accessed with a passcode:
- Go to Settings > Screen Time.
- Enable it, select App Limits, and add the apps.
- Set a limit, and after it expires, the apps will require a passcode to use.
Guided Access for Temporary Locking
Guided Access restricts your iPhone to a single app and disables other areas of the screen:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access and turn it on.
- Open the app, triple-click the side/home button, and start Guided Access.
- To end it, triple-click again and enter your passcode.
These methods help prevent unauthorized access, but they are temporary solutions for locking apps on your iPhone.
